Stamtec’s Mechanical Presses (a.k.a. OBG, OBS, OBI, or C-frame) undergo finite element analysis prior to manufacturing to ensure proper design, superior strength and maximum resistance to deflection
Stamtec one-point straight side presses (a.k.a. single crank presses) feature precise slide guiding and frames designed to handle higher tonnage without the risk of angular deflection or yawning. Each press's fabricated steel frame undergoes rigorous finite element analysis prior to manufacturing and is of a heavy, box-type construction that is thermally stress relieved before being machined for uniform accuracy.

The massive bed of our one-point straight side press is built to a standard of no more than .0015-inch deflection per foot of bed length, both left to right and front to back, with a full-capacity load symmetrically distributed over two thirds of the bed area. This design provides superior compressive strength, deflection, torsion and vibration resistance.
The frame of these metal stamping presses is connected with four full-length steel tie rods that are hydraulically pre-stressed to 150 percent of press capacity and are welded together to form a single, unitized weldment.
