Pre-deliver Preparations- The customer is responsible for preparing certain items prior to the Stamtec technician(s) arrival for start-up. These items include the following:
• Foundation – The foundation and/or floor for the press must be level and smooth and have sufficient load bearing capacity to carry the press weight and load bearing forces. It is the customer’s responsibility to unpack, clean, set the press into position, and pre level on press mounts. If press mounts are not supplied it will be the customer’s complete responsibility to have the press leveled to our specifications.
• Air Supply – The air supply is to be connected to the press by the customer in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations. (DO NOT turn on air to the press, only connect) The minimum air line should be ½” with 5CFM’s at 100PSI. Larger presses may require more. Stamtec also highly advises the air supply to be filtered from dirt and moisture.
• Electrical Service – The electrical service is to be connected by the customer to the press at the input side of the press disconnect in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations. (DO NOT turn on the electrical power to the press, only connect). Service should be at or very close to the press location with the proper voltage and amperage requirements. There should be a separate (customer supplied) fused disconnect rated for the required volts and amperage installed in accordance with all local and national electrical codes.
• If the main motor drive is not installed when the press arrives it will be the the customer’s responsibility to make sure the motor, belts and guards are installed on the press.
• Lubricants – All required press lubricants need to be acquired and on site prior to the arrival of the press. Before the arrival of Stamtec technicians, the customer is required to fill the main gearbox, hydraulic overload tank, and grease canister with appropriate lubricants to the proper fill level.
• If the main motor drive is not installed when the press arrives, it will be the the customer’s responsibility to make sure the motor, belts and guards are installed on the press.
NOTE: Stamtec Service Department will send a letter to the customer when the press is purchased giving you exact amperage and air requirements, and a chart listing all the amounts and types of lubricants required for your particular press. But, always feel free to call us at 931-393-5050 if you need additional support or have any questions.
